UFC UNDISPUTED 3

This is a popular fighting game, THQ Inc. and Zuffa, LLC today announced the first gameplay details surrounding UFC® Undisputed™ 3, the new installment in the critically acclaimed and best-selling mixed martial arts (MMA) videogame franchise based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship®.  Poised to take players inside the virtual Octagon® with extensive focus on intense toe-to-toe combat, impressive visual presentation and significantly increased accessibility, including the introduction of PRIDE® Mode, two new weight classes and an impressive playable roster of more than 150 UFC fighters, UFC Undisputed 3 is currently in development for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, with a scheduled release timing of January 2012.
“UFC Undisputed 3 is on track to deliver an incredible virtual MMA experience unlike any other,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Games, THQ.  “This product is intense, engaging and highly competitive while still being extremely accessible, making it a must-have for millions of UFC fans, traditional fighting game enthusiasts and more casual sports fans around the world.”
“We are excited to launch UFC Undisputed 3 in January 2012 and expect it to be the best version yet,” UFC President Dana White said.  “We’ve added two new weight classes and several new features to the game that will bring UFC fans closer to the Octagon than ever before.”

UFC Undisputed 3 has many new changes from UFC Undisputed 2010, including the following:
§  New THQ servers for online play
§  Pride Mode, with Pride rules, ring, and fighters. Commentary will be provided by Bas Rutten and Stephen QuadrosLenne Hardt will announce the fighters in Pride.
§  A brand new submission system.
§  Mo-capping used for fighters giving more realistic movement and striking.
§  New Stats: Footwork, Ground Grapple Top and Bottom for offense and defense.
§  Fighter entrances.
§  Two game play control options: traditional and simplified. (Pro and Amateur controls)
§  Leg Kick TKO's, including leg breaks from checked kicks.
§  New submission moves including the standing rear naked choke, standing guillotine, and the flying scissor heel hook.
§  New KO animations.
§  Damage recovery between rounds.
§  Cuts affect stamina and energy recovery rate.
§  Redesigned striking game emphasizing jabs, quick strikes, and combinations.
§  New Stamina system. Your stamina can only come back up so far until you are fully rested.
§  New clinch controls. You can close the distance to keep from getting kneed to the head & punching your way out. (This also helps in other areas)
§  New transition in the clinch to back control.
§  Whip knees can be done to the body & can be blocked.
§  Stat decay removed in Career Mode.
§  Roster fighters from the UFC and Pride can now be taken through career mode.
§  New ground positions with the cage.
§  Using the cage to set-up submissions & "wall walking" back to a standing position.
§  New options, such as Stamina Simulation mode, Competition Spec mode (Removes all random elements such as flash KOs and doctor stoppages), and Stat Equalizer (Equalizes all stats to 80 for both fighters).
§  Reach is now a big part in striking.
§  Fighters are now able to sway on the ground to avoid strikes.
§  A new feint system.
§  Take down-intercepting knees have been added.
§  "Finish the Fight" allows you to continue striking until the ref pulls you off.
§  Sweeps are back including new ones.
§  Elbow spamming has been fixed. Only certain fighters have elbows in clinch range.
§  Pride Grand Prix have been included, with the ability to have fights in the same night with damage moving onto the next fight.
§  Return of Madison Square Garden. This venue was available in UFC Undisputed 2009, but missing in UFC Undisputed 2010. Other venues available are MGM GrandMandalay BayThe O2Bell CentrePalms Casino Resort, and the Red Rock Resort Spa and Casino.
§  Mario YamasakiHerb Dean, Yves Lavigne, Josh Rosenthal, Dan Miragliotta and Kevin Mulhall are the referees available in the game.
§  Yuji Shimada is the Pride referee.
